The Games Awards es la gala anual que premia a la industria de los videojuegos y ahora también, de los eSports y el entretenimiento. Una ceremonia que año tras año ha ido superándose y que cada vez es más esperada por todos los aficionados a los videojuegos para poder votar por su producción, streamer o desarrolladora preferida.
The Game Awards 2021 no solamente sirvió para reunir a los nombres importantes de los videojuegos y la cultura popular, sino que también para ofrecer una plataforma para importantes estrenos mundiales y anuncios de nuevos juegos, sin mencionar actuaciones musicales como la de Sting, Imagine Dragons y The Game Awards Orchestra en vivo. Este evento, que el año pasado se vio obligado a pasar a un formato digital, debido al avance en la vacunación masiva de Covid-19, este año los organizadores se han permitido llevar a cabo la ceremonia en vivo en el Microsoft Theater, en el centro de Los Ángeles y dirigido por Geoff Keighley con Simu Liu, Jim Carrey, Carrie-Anne Moss y Keanu Reeves como presentadores.
