OSCARS 2021: la lista completa de los nominados

Con un retraso derivado de la pandemia de coronavirus, este lunes finalmente fueron anunciados los nominados a las 23 categorías de lo que será la 93ª entrega de los premios Oscar que otorga la Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. La actriz y productora Priyanka Chopra y su esposo, el cantante y actor Nick Jonas, fueron los encargados de anunciar a los candidatos para la gala que se celebrará el domingo 25 de abril en ABC.

De lo más notable dentro de los nominados, fue el hecho de que las candidaturas fueran más diversas, lo que refleja los esfuerzos de la Academia por evitar los errores de otras entregas de premios. Como resultado, este año se dio la primera nominación a dos mujeres para la categoría de Mejor Director: Emerald Fennell con Promising Young Woman y Chloé Zhao con Nomadland, la gran favorita de esta temporada de premios que ya se ha ganado una veintena de galardones.

Mank, el filme original de Netflix dirigido por David Fincher, lidera las nominaciones con 10 menciones, seguida de The Father, Judas and the Black Messiah, Minari, Sound of Metal, The Trial of the Chicago 7 y Nomadland con 6 nominaciones cada una. Mientras que el fallecido Chadwick Boseman, podría lograr ganar un Oscar póstumo por su participación en Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, también de Netflix, plataforma que rompió su propio récord de 24 menciones, al obtener 35 nominaciones para este 2021. Por su parte, Amazon se colocó en el segundo lugar de nominaciones por plataforma con un total de 12 menciones.

Sin embargo, a pesar de la mayor diversidad en las nominaciones, al anime continúa siendo un gran olvidado de la Academia, que sorprendió a muchos al elegir para la categoría de Mejor Animación a cintas como Onward sobre Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Train (la cinta más taquillera en la historia de Japón), Earwig and the Witch (del emblemático Studio Ghibli), Lupin III The First, Ride Your Wave, A Whisker Away y ON-GAKU, todas con una gran calidad de animación e historia.
